*14 years, including 5 war years when not raced
** As the “Lively” she was presented to A.T. Lennox Boyd, later Lord Boyd of Merton, when Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation by his constituents in Mid Bedfordshire by public subscription. He was a Conservative M.P. from 1931-1960. During the 23 years of his ownership she probably only raced for about 7 years. From his retirement in 1960 she was kept at Saltash for 16 years and during this period an engine was fitted.

Jim Tresidder bought Lively from Dougie Burnett in 1982, and renamed her “Verity”.
S. L. Tresidder, (Sam Tresidder) Jim's uncle, joined the RCYC in 1909. He was joint owner of V19 with C. P. Stevens, she was named Berthe (pronounced "Bairt") after Sam's French wife. [nee Darras]. A local dentist, with a busy practice opposite the Polytechnic, in Church Street, Sam lived at Stratton Terrace, Falmouth, and had previously owned the yacht “ Sally” built in 1904 and subsequently sold to Miss Darras in 1913. [D'Arras?]
[“ Berthe” ( Blackbird, Merle) moved to the Solent in 1947, was renamed “ Emily” V30, “ Santa Margarita” and finally “ Gay Lady.” ]
Jim's father Hereward Tresidder, a local amateur artist and manager of the Trustee Savings Bank, was Hon. Sec. of the RCYC from 1923 to 1937. He was made a life member in 1945. [courtesy of Jacky Andrew, 26 July, 2001]

1999: V20 Verity (Neil & Jacky Andrew, RCYC) entered The Falmouth Sunbeams 75th Anniversary Championships held 22-27 August. Her hull colour was then Dark Blue. [In 1999, Dr. Neil Andrew was Hon. Treasurer of the Falmouth Sunbeam Class.]
