Arthur Charles 'Toby' West (1919 - 2001)
"I'm going to live forever"

[Toby's answer to those trying to tidy up after him, and to create immaculate homes by the sea..!]

Arthur 'Toby' West died on  October 15th, 2001, aged 82.
To say he made his life, and livened many others, is an understatement!
It was a pleasure, and a privilege to have really known him - sadly, the end of an era in Falmouth.

 Adieu Toby!

No, no, no, no ... well, if I must!
Toby and electricity - especially in his cookhouse.... it always worked somehow, and then Toby used to light up!

At the suggestion of Basil Westwood-Frame, viewers making prints from the following photographs are requested to make a contribution to the R.N.L.I. in memory of Toby. On the basis that images are restricted to personal private use, I am happy to provide high density JPEG's upon request and to waive my copyright for single downloads.
Please e-mail requests to me.

It's only surprising no-one there has suggested hanging flower baskets off it!

The launch of Arthur's autobiography, with Edna & Kate
Kate Mulcahy (then Osborne) inspired me to keep going, and so with her help,  finish the book.
